Comments starting to wear me down..

I am with the folks who have not told their boss or co-workers what kind of surgery. People at my office have been pretty good about it and only 2 have actually asked "what kind of surgery". My response has been that my medical records are in the same box as my religious and political beliefs, and it is marked private.

My friends are pretty useless cause none of them have gone thru this. Some are discouraging and say I should seek holistic or herbal treatments. I just skirt the issue and change the subject because I don't want to get in a debate over it. It is trying.

The worst conversation I has is with an ex boyfriend who I still hang out with a bit. His opinion is that this is totally "elective" and for the sole purpose of making the surgeon richer. And that he would discourage his partner from having the surgery. WELL... If I actually had a partner and this sob had not broken up with me, then well maybe that would be an option. But since I am all on my own, and would like to get into a relationship again someday, then clearing up my "female" issues seems to be a good place to start (among other very excellent reasons for me to have the surgery). Grrr... i am still po'd that he said that. SO insensitive.

Sorry for the rant. Three more days to go and then i can start on the rest of my life!!! WOo Hooooo!!!!!

thanks for listening,
Karen

Comments starting to wear me down..

Hey there Celtic...Im with you. I had mine November 28, 2007 and it was a "surprise" to both myself and my husband. It knocked us both for a loop but now that its over and we're "back to normal"....yah right, things are suppose to be hunky dorey, right.

Well, they're not as normal as they used to be. I cry at the drop of a hat for absolutely no reason at all...I STILL look like I've swallowed a balloon and I can't feel my stomach (which used to be flat) under my belly button to my fabulous-looking scar!! Im not complaining really...I just want you to know that "being lucky"...yes, to have our life and cancer/pre-cancer cells removed - I agree but puhleezzze people, stop saying it!!
We're trying to deal with something that we, ourselves, are having a difficult time understanding, never mind having to explain it to others....ugh!!!

Im off my soap box now but Celtic, I get it...I truly get it. Its not that we're not grateful, right!? But can we please move on....

Get well soon...
