Stamina question adenomyosis symptoms

I have been diagnosed with adenomyosis. I read the symptoms online and I have all of them. But it doesn't say anything about fatigue. I always feel sluggish and even when I was working out consistently I never could get my stamina to build up. I was just wondering if that is a symptom of the disease. My hope being that once I heal maybe I will feel better.

Re: Stamina question adenomyosis symptoms

My adenomyosis was confirmed after my hysterectomy. I had fluctuating levels of energy. I was also dealing with the heavy bleeding with anemia. Once I recovered from surgery my energy levels returned. Good luck on your journey

I don't think just having the disease causes fatigue, but if you are in pain and bleeding then it would certainly make sense that you feel fatigue. I had adenomyosis, and I was easily fatigued, especially after my periods. Hope that helps some.

I Suffered from fatigue mostly during my period. I could sleep the entire time away. I can't say yet if the hysterectomy has helped that yet as still healing but I am looking forward to finding out my new "normal".

Re: Stamina question adenomyosis symptoms

Yes, the fatigue is definitely part of adenomyosis. Due to blood loss, and even if you're not suffering much blood loss, with adenomyosis, much of your body's blood is in the uterus, because the adenomyosis is causing tissue to continue to be built, which needs a blood supply. So your body is constantly sending blood to the uterus to maintain all that tissue.

I was diagnosed with adenomyosis with an MRI (later confirmed on pathology). My uterus was 20-wk pregnancy size. When they took it out, my body's blood supply was reduced by about 20%, because it was so full of blood. I needed transfusions after the surgery.

The week before my surgery, I was standing in line at a UPS store, and I had to sit on the floor because I simply couldn't stand anymore. I thought this was normal, because I had been doing things like that for so long.

I felt immediately better the second I woke up from surgery, and every day since.

Thank you, I'm feeling better and better about deciding to go ahead with the surgery. Everyone's feed back has been great.

Ahhh, I see your date is Monday! Woohoo! Are you ready? There is a ton of great advice here on how to get your preparations taken care of prior to going in. Everything from housework, packing, pre-cooking meals, enlisting friends/family for help & rides.

Please feel free to ask for advice on getting ready, as there is a ton of super advice here.

I was so scared and feared that I'd have a terrible recovery, be in a ton of pain, etc. It was easy-peasy, and about the most peaceful 6 weeks I could imagine. My body just felt so...at peace. I dealt with this for 6 years, and I wish I had done it sooner.

I screwed up somewhere because my surgery date is 9/8. But thank you for the advice. This website has been so helpful and supportive. I'm so grateful to have found this forum.
