Could anyone tell me please, if you have a hyst. and everything is removed, except one ovary where do the eggs go, and is there the strange possibility of pms continuing??? Or is pre menstral syndrome more related to the anguish of the other organs acting up?
I read three different books, and no one seems to be addressing this! Thanks,

Lynn.

Lynn,
The eggs just get absorbed back into the body. If you had PMS before the hyst, it is possible for you to still have PMS type symptoms when you retain an ovary. A hysterectomy is not a cure for PMS.

Because my PMS is miserable which makes me pretty darn miserable to live with... That was one thing I was so hoping to get rid of or at least have it diminish. Maybe it will be less with only one ovary, time will tell.

It's because your ovaries are still producing the hormones that cause the PMS. Some on this board have found that their PMS is dimished, however. One nice thing is that you aren't watching the calendar so you aren't expecting anything. IMHO, half the time we anticipate being miserable and that only adds to the problem.
