50th Birthday and 7 1/2 months post op doing great!

Hello Sisters!
Just wanted to give some light to those still in recent recovery- I am 7 /1/2 months out of a LSH (June 30, 2008) and doing fantastic. It took me about 2 months to get into a somewhat regular routine, but I was still very tired - then at 5 months my energy came back and now on my 50th (YEA!) birthday I hardly think about the surgery. Or periods. Or birth control. Or pads big as a mattress. Or embarassing flooding type accidents. Or pain. I feel better than I have in about 7 years when my issues with my uterus cropped up.

So for all those wondering if they are ever going to get better, you will. Or if sex will be the same - it is and more wonderful. I am so happy with my decision to have the surgery. I kept my ovaries so I still cycle. And to prove it, I have a zit on my cheek just to prove what a youngster I can still be. And on my birthday too! Gosh!

Take heart sisters in recovery, there are good days to come. I wish all of you a speedy return to a better life post surgery, for people to love and care for you during this time (remember to stay in PJs and no makeup, if they see you looking well ONE day, they think OK she's good now and desert you!) and lots of pain free days.
