sex before surgery?

We did the morning of. I didn't have to be at the hospital until 11:00 am for a 1:30 surgery. I needed to feel that intimacy, since I didn't know how long it would be before I felt that intimacy again.

Absolutely, I think you should make-love before your surgery....it will provide you comfort that you desperately need. I needed that comfort and loving support. I was so scared and hubby loving me, helped me face the surgery.

We had a great dinner out on Saturday and made love that night, did my surgery prep on Sunday and surgery was on Monday. It was a wonderful Saturday night, less stressed I'd felt in weeks. So glad I did it because had issues and just starting to feel like we're getting back to that level now.

So, did any of you have to do an antibiotic vaginal suppository a week before surgery?


I have to do one of these and was told no sex after that, which, seems so unfair to me. They say it's to prevent infection but, I guess I don't understand that reasoning as they are removing the uterus?

I just get more confused all the time by this. I thought I was sure about what was going to happen, now I feel so stupid and uninformed!

I never did find out before the surgery as Hubby came home with a cold and i did not want to risk too much close contact with all the swine flu around this country at the moment.

Do not feel stupid, each doctor seems to do things slightly different. My doctor dropped an IV antibiotic.

Sorry you have to do the week before thing, I personally hadn't heard of tht before.
