Where'd This Gut Come From!?

I was about 50 lbs. overweight before my surgery (I've lost 20 since my surgery, only 30 to go), but before the surgery I didn't have all this loose skin under my waistline. But it seems that after my surgery and still to this day, 15 months post-op, I now have a gut - and I had a TVH, no outside incision, etc... Anyone know why I would have developed this now. Also, any idea what exercises I can do to get rid of it. I can't do situps because of a bad disc in my lower back.

Congratulations on the weight loss! I have the gut too (or actually the sag of extra skin) and hate to tell you this, but I don't think there is much you can do about it unless you want to get a tummy tuck! With weight gain our skin expands, when we lose it all we still have the skin and sometimes it just doesn't settle back in to well. I had a large baby during my first pregnancy and although I expanded a great deal in my tummy I actually had lost weight during the pregnancy due to complications. When it was all said and done, my belly just sagged. That was 7 years ago. I've tried sit-ups, stomach exercises, weights, you name it. I haven't been able to come up with anything that works. I am by the way pretty thin (5 '8 " and 130) and now that I've got rid of my enlarged uterus I'm really quite flat, but I still have THE SAG!!!!!!!!!!! Luckily, most people would have no idea underneath my clothes, but a two piece swimsuit is definitely out of the question. Anyway, sorry I don't have much in the way of advice. I would love it if someone else comes along and has some recommendations that might work, because I've had no luck with it!
