Bleeding with clots 3 wks post op????

I was in a car for about 11 hrs today driving...5 1/2 hrs each way and about 15 after I got home I started bleeding....I called dr answering service but haven't heard anything...we live 30 miles from hospital and I really don't want to wait in ER....it like the first few days of a period bright red blood w/ quarter size clots... Is this prone to happen 3wks post op or should I be worried???

Definitely sounds like you are making the right choice in calling the Dr and if they haven't answered you should call again.

Usually around 3 weeks you would have spotting but not necessarily passing clots.

This does not sound normal . Usually slight spotting but not enough to soak a pad is normal but not clots! I had no clots and was told by dr only light spotting. When I over did it I woul lose more but not clots.
Please call your dr and get some advise just to make sure - you did travel a lot it may be just that was top

Sorry, I'm doing better....I broke a couple of stitches and happen to have a "pocket of blood" behind my vaginal cuff. My dr fixed me up and put me on " I'm serious this time" bed rest for 5 days . I'm sitting in childrens hospital with my 8 yr old for his athma. We r going to PICU right now...mommy never stops u know...love you guys and thanks for the support

Oh no Bunkyboo1 - I guess you're not getting the mandatory bed rest now either. I have a child with severe asthma, she's grown now, but I will never forget those scary times at the hospital! I hope all goes well quickly for your son and you are able to go home and rest SOON!!
