Urine leakage on 9th day post op

I'm new to this website, so this is my first post. I had my tlh august 2nd, 2010 and all was well for a week or so, then went down-hill fast. Started leaking urine thru the vagina 9 days post op. I went back to my obgyn, came home with a cath for 7 days. This didn't help anything, so i was referred to a urologist, was put thru all sorts of tests and procedures (which none of worked). Since then i have been referred to yet another urologist and am awaiting my appt. With him on sept 28th, 2010.
At this point, i'm upset, scared, and trying not to get depressed.

Re: Urine leakage on 9th day post op

Well, at first i was in total denial about it, even tho i knew what my body was telling me. The doctors have done numerous tests... Tampon test, cystogram, ivp, cystoscope, and an unsuccessful attempt at ureteral stent placement. I have been told that i have a ureterovaginal fistula that allows urine to leak into the vagina. Unfortunently, it is a continious leak.

Did you have pain and discomfort and do you have to wear pads?

Re: Urine leakage on 9th day post op

About the 7th day, i had a low grade temp, mild abdominal pain, and feelings of a uti. I called doc and was put on antibiotics for a uti. Even tho my urine was tested and no sign of infection was found, i went thru 3 rounds of antibiotics. I started out wearing regular pads but have progressed to incontinence pads as they are more absorbent (the down side to that is... They are more expensive).
