I finally got brave enough and took my steri strips off. Those darn things never fell off by themselves, and it was harboring dried blood underneath, so I didn't want that.

At 5 weeks post-op, I'd just like to know how my incision is supposed to look? Mine appears to be like reddish/dark pink in color. Is mine a normal looking color then? And will it eventually fade off into my skin color?

Oops, one more question if I may: Do you ladies put something "over" your incision area to keep it "safe"? Or do you just wear the normal undergarment over it? Thanks!!!

Your incision sounds like it's coming along nicely. I wore a maxi pad over my incision for weeks. Last time I had a bikini incision it took about a year to become virtually invisible.

I didn't put anything over my incision, I just wore loose comfy clothes until it felt better (and it does feel and look better in time )

Sounds like it looks normal to me.
I also wore a pad over it for about 2 weeks. I felt safer for some reason.
