What is the shortest recovery time for TVH BSO?

I have a friend who said her sister was back to work the next week! I find this hard to believe, but thought I would ask.

and sorry, I don't believe this "friend" is acting in her own best interests pushing the return to work and neglecting the healing time her body needs following major surgery. She could very well be back at work and totally miserable and in the direct line of some major post op complications. Noting your healthy skepticism, I don't think we have to worry about you putting employment ahead of healing. You seem bright to me!

One thing to pass on in the form of sisterly wisdom: We have 'sightings" of these superhero hyster patients from time to time, usually the friend, relative or co-worker of a friend, relative or co-worker (sometimes even the friend of a friend of a friend that great aunt Melba knew forty years ago) I think when these examples of women who are out there doing the impossible surface, perhaps whoever is telling us these fables want to minimize how major hysterectomy is. Discount how scary it is. backwards way of comforting us. Reports of wall scrubbing, horseback riding women with huge abdominal incisions a week post op. Maybe on a soap opera...maybe in the national enquirer, but real life?

I agree with MeDH. Sometimes we even spot them here. More often than not, they learn the hard way that it does not work that way, and post with remorse for pushing themselves with unrealistic expectations. It takes time and patience to heal properly. You can't fool mother nature!

She has to be that same woman from the tampon commercial 20 years ago that told me that if I used her brand of tampons, I too could rollerskate, disco dance, ride horses and motorcycles, all while having my period. Her current employment is as that model in the adjustable bed informercial they show on five channels in the middle of every night!

It has to be her, couldn't be anyone else in this world!
