TAH Hi new here- 6 days post hysterectomy

I thought i already did an introduction, but i am not sure if it worked. Had my hysterectomy on Jan 6. So far recovery is going well (knock on wood) except for the constipation. Anyway wanted to wish everyone else all the best.

Hi I'm new too. Surgery January 5th I still have pain but now trying to find out what is next and what to expect. Glad to hear you are doing good Blessings

Glad to hear! My TAH (left ovaries and cervix) was Jan. 8 so it's good to hear of others near my date. My spirits are high and feel pretty good! Minus getting in and out of bed. Walked for twenty minutes today. Had a large fibroid hence the TAH. My belly is swollen and tender which I've read is common. Is yours similar? Have had sharp pains getting in and out of bed, after a walk, or sitting for awhile but it subsides. Still haven't had a bowel movement since release from hospital. Get my stitches out tomorrow. Looking up different races for November this year to keep me motivated and optimistic. Downloaded French, Danish, and nutrition classes. Best to everyone!

I was sent home with stool softeners and it was 5-6 days before my first movement (I had to do a bowel prep before mine). if you don't get some relief I would call the doc and ask if you can take something to help get you some relief.

On your recovery, congrats that is great news.

Thank you...hearing someone else took awhile makes me feel a bit more normal in these unchartered waters. I'm eating a few prunes and took a stool softener. Will ask doctor when I get stitches out tomorrow if it hasn't happened. My husband chuckled when my goal of the day was to walk and have a bm!

lol I had mine and the first thing from my SO was well? I looked at him and smiled he was almost as excited as I was
I'm so glad that I found this forum and have some real insight and real people experiences to help my through these "uncharted waters"
