When to sweep?

I have a question I hope someone can help me with. I was told not to vacuum for 3-4 weeks after my TAH. I'm 10 days post-op and was wondering what restrictions there are on using the broom and dust-pan to sweep kitchen floor. Does anyone know? Thanks!!

When to sweep?

I am 15 days post-op and would love to sweep, etc. however, I am going to wait until after I see my Dr. next week to make sure it is okay. I don't want to take any chances.

Had a TVH with A/P repairs on April 13.

When to sweep?

I was advised to do nothing (no bending, reaching, stooping, pulling, no housework period, etc.) for a minimum of 2 wks. until after the first Dr. check. At that check, was advised that sweeping, vac, etc. was still off limits.

(At that 2 wk. check, while the Dr. was giving me instructions on what to do/not do, he looked toward my dh with a straight face and said, "...And no doing dishes/kitchen work for 2 years." LOL)

Maybe it depends on what's done, but 10 days is still pretty fresh. I'd check with your Dr. first.

leave the dust bunnies alone

I know it's hard to look at; but leave the floor sweeping and all the things you drop for someone else to pick up. Your insides are still healing even if the outside is looking and feeling better. Four weeks seems to be more the rule.
