Silver Nitrate 25 days post op due to bleeding

Hello girls. It's my first time posting. I'd like to first thank you all for your stories, information, and energy. My surgery was Nov 14. Everything went well. After the first week of normal challenges, I found myself feeling and healing well. I'm young, fit and healthy and felt like I was well on my way to recovery but am cautious enough to know to take it easy. Last Monday, I had my setback. I felt fine but when I went to the bathroom to pee I passed a fist size blood clot. Once I passed the clot, I began to bleed like a moderate period ( I, like most others here, have a history of heavy periods). Scared, I called my doctor. The Ob/gyn on call told me to lay down and rest. She said if I passed more blood clots and felt uncomfortable to come to the ER. Well, I did so I went. Hours later the same Ob/gyn was able to stop the bleeding with silver nitrate. She said I appeared to have a small cut on my cervix. She advised me to see my surgeon the next day which I did. He (who is fabulous) poked at my cervix to see how vulnerable it was. It started to bleed again. He re-silver nitrated it and saw me back in 3 days. That visit (which was this past Friday) he poked again and could see the bleeding. He says it was less than earlier in the week. He now says it appears to be an irritated blood vessel. He used silver nitrate again and set my next appt to next Thurs. He did not seem alarmed and said that the silver nitrate treatments should work as they will kill off the vessel. I'm so nervous. I've been resting well. I feel defeated over this setback. Has anyone had any issues like this?
P.S. on a positive note, my incision looks fantastic.

Re: Silver Nitrate 25 days post op due to bleeding

Glad your doing ok! I am 5 wkd post op and just started some light but bright red spotting. It lasted for a couple days then went away for a day and now it's back!?? I'm starting to get concerned about cuff issues and may end up getting a silver nitrate treatment myself. I go in 3 days so... Guess I'll find out soon!
