can find comfort in any position

Hello to all, I had my hys on June 15th and did extremely well from what the doc said. I can not find any comfort in sitting, standing, laying. Walking does help the gas LOL. Any suggestions to how long this last. I look like I am about 6 months pregnant and kinda feel like it too, if I remember correctly. Tired, bloated, bowling ball between your legs>help I think I doing good, but how much longer does it take to get some relief?

Thanks

I'm so sorry you're having so much pain. What kind of hysterectomy did you have? I had a suprapubic lap hyst and felt bloated for about a week but never had severe pain with it. I took a Dulcolax when I got home and took Gas-X. The Dulcolax really helped with my gas and BM's and the Gas-X helped with existing bubbles. I could actually feel them pop in my belly. The first week or so the only way I could lay and get some comfort was on my back and I put 2 pillows under my knees. I am a side sleeper so this was really difficult for me. Think positive and know you'll feel better.

Blessings,
Rose

can find comfort in any position

I had TAH & didn't find any comfortable position for probably about 10 days or more. I'm 3 weeks & 1 day & still am very aware of everything in there, still some pain constantly, but it isn't that "I want my mommy" pain.

Bowling ball pain? Not sure what you mean by that, unless it's what I referred to as a cement truck trying to drive out of my vajayjay. That lasted over 2 weeks I think.

The least uncomfortable position for quite a while was in the recliner with 2 pillows under my knees, taking all the pressure off of my pelvic area. I slept there too, if you would call THAT sleep the first week after surgery.

Try phazyme to get rid of your gas. I'm hoping you're ok in the BM department. If not, take a stool softener. Lots of water & walking.

I hope you feel better soon!
