Still gassy
So, I had my laparascopic hys 6 days ago. I feel much better. I am able to do house work again. I drove yesterday. I notice that I do not have severe mood swings. I feel happier, like a different person. The issue that I am currently having is gas bubbles, and very hard stools. I am on stool softners, and gas-x. I wake up everyday around 5pm with gas, and have to have crackers for tummyache. I ran out of pepto bismol which helps greatly. I dont know if its the gas x that gives me the morning issues. I only take 3 a day, and 2 softners a day. I have to sit up during the night to release gas and belching alot. My appetite is still half of what is was. I told my doc, but, he said it takes time. I started at 176 lbs, now Im at 166 lbs. I don't eat gassy foods at all. just 2 small meals, and oatmeal for breakfast, and lots of water. So, when will my appetite come back, and my gas leave, and my stools soften? I know that we are all different, but maybe someone has the same issue

Re: Still gassy
I had horrific abdominal gas pains around day 12 for several days. I took gas x that didn't feel like it did any good but possibly did as it could have been worse. I noticed that I hadn't been drinking enough water - I wasn't thirsty-and I had been eating anything I wanted. It certainly helped to change my diet and eat the least gassy foods I could find. It was so weird to find that the foods that are good for helping with the bms were the ones causing the gas. What to do? "6 of one half a dozen of the other" I also had been taking iron pills for years but have stopped taking them as they were attributing to the harder stools. I think it just takes time...not fun while it is happening but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there.

Re: Still gassy
Hi, thanks for the information. I guess I still have to deal with it longer, lol. I am not a very thirsty person, so I have to force myself to drink. What is the recommended ammount to drink in ounces, do you know?? that may be one of the problems for me. I am eating foods that are not suppose to be gassy. I got of gas x, it dont work for me. Ill stick with my stool softners. Thank you again

Re: Still gassy
I tried probiotics along with gas-x this time after bad gas pains with my tubal ligation. I think they helped me because I only had pain for a couple days and everything in the bathroom is working better than it ever has before.
I'm using the sustenex gummies daily.

Re: Still gassy
Hi Ladybug! Welcome to the other side!
Glad to hear you are coming along with an exception of a few gas problems. Everything just sounds so normal to me.
You see, I believe that almost all of us had the same problem...
And guess what ? After 3 months I still have those issues especially in the evening. I can't seem to understand this awful and uncomfortable phenomena ?
Well be patient, take what ever seems to work for you.
My Grandmother taught me to make a bay leaf tea. Just boil some water with about 4-5 bay leaves in it until you can really smell the aroma of the tea, simmer , add sugar and drink.
It seems to settle the " stomach" problems. Feel better.
