doctor switch!

[font=Garamond]Good Morning!

The doctor who brought my two children and tied my tubes became ill and cannot do surgery. He has been training another man of whom he spoke highly.

We met once and it felt like a rush app't. Now he has me feeling intimated about my weight. In speaking of another matter over the phone, he suddenly asked my weight (truthfully answering, hovering about 200). He declared I should lose weight- better for healing. He is right, of course- my spare tire is right on the region. Surgery is scheduled October and if I was going to lose I would have done so already!

I do not want to put off the surgery.

I am venting - but it still bothers me.

doctor switch!

Aw, I'm sorry that has happened to you
It sounds like the dr has a bit of room for improving his "bed-side manner". I've had some of those, great drs but a bit abrupt and blunt.
Maybe you could call and ask for another appointment? It sounds like you do still have unanswered concerns and there should be time to get in to see him beforeOctober 20. I think that since a hyst is a major surgery, you should go into it as confident as possible. Mabe, as gently as possible, let him know how you feel and ask for suggestions

doctor switch!

Hi orangeblossom, Sorry this dr lacks manners. My doctor never said anything about my weigh or healing. I weigh 210 pounds and I kept the incision cleaned by keeping it dry the first 2 weeks by laying down and pass one of those Aloe wipes over the incision and set the hair dryer on cool until it dries and just layed in bed for some time and then walk around, take naps ect. When I went on my 3 week chk up my Dr said "wow" the incision looks great! So take care of yourself you should heal fine as long as you take it real easy and keep it dry. Ask the nurses questions too! Best of luck!
