My surgery was pushed back from the 1st of Aug to the 10th. I am getting more nervous everyday. Now I have wait a little longer. 9 days don't sound like much but it feels like forever. I just want it over. My DH is about at wits end with me already. DH is trying to be so suppertive but I know he can only take so much. Does anyone have a suggestion of something I can take for my nerves? I don't function well on valuim and that is what I have been rx.

I'm sorry that your surgery has been pushed back some.
I don't wait well either.
I find that staying busy helps me most. I cooked, cleaned and shopped for recovery items ( comfy jammies, granny panties etc ). I even found time to practice some pampering. I enjoyed lunch and movies with friends, a day at the beauty salon, long soaks in the tub. I don't like taking meds so keeping busy helped me a lot.

Best wishes.

I know how you feel with your surgery postponed....it happened to me yesterday also. Mine was supposed to be for July 30th and now it is Aug 1st. My wait is only 2 days more but the anxiety is the same. Maybe it will help you to know that it's happening to others also? I think I will try to remember that it could happen again at any time so I won't be so surprised by it. in there and come back to Hystersisters often...it really helps! (Although I'm staying off the post op forums....it seems to make me worry more)!

I'm right there with ya'! Mine was postponed this week from July 20th to the 26th, but - I'm looking at it as a chance to get everything taken care of just the way I want to before I go in. My DH is absolutely wonderful too and would do anything for me in this, but I feel like this is all I've talked about for the last two weeks. Kinda makes me feel bad - even though I know he doesnt' mind. Just the same I decided to focus on other things and not bring it up as much. I mean - the more I rehash everything, the more I think about it - the more I just sit and think about it the more stressed I become - the more stressed I become, the more I talk about it. I'm just frankly kind of tired of it so I decided to just focus on other things and get on with doing them. Some days are easier than others. Check out the thread posted about "how do you calm your nerves".
Good luck!

Been there done that too. Mine was moved last week from the 17th to the 19th. Only 2 days but still enough to make me crazy.

Try and keep busy...I know it's hard.
