Post Op 6 Weeks

It seems like it takes a long time to heal after this surgery but things do get better.

6 weeks post op and received the ok for all activity. I was so scared about having sex but I must say, my husband and I really had a good time and things were great.

What kind of surgery did you have. I had a vaginal hysterectomy 10 days ago and sex is the last thing on my mind.

Re: Post Op 6 Weeks

I went to my 6 wks. appt. this morning and he cleared me for everything but sex. My hubby is disappointed but I am relieved. I can't even imagine doing that right now. We've done other, non-intercourse types of activities but those I did only because I felt sorry for him, not because I exactly wanted to.

I asked the doctor when my libido would come back. He said it could be a while given all that my body went through before, during, and after the surgery. I can understand that but I'm not looking forward to a fortnight from now when he cleared me for all activities. I'm not really looking forward to the non-sex normal activities he's cleared me for, but don't have much of a choice. So anyway, I hope your libido comes back before mine apparently has!

I had a vaginal hysterectomy and rectocele. I was very nervous but my husband and I always had a great sex life. I hope you eventually get there as it could bring you closer together. Just take your time and listen to your body. I wish you luck

I had a TVH with bladder lift and had my special time with my DH just a few days short of my 6 week date. I found it was not untill the last week or two that I even had any desire. Hope this helps

Re: Post Op 6 Weeks

Hi,
Thanks for your message. I went yesterday for my post-op visit and wonder if I needed a bladder lift because I feel like I am now leaking urine. I was fine when I first came home from the hospital, so they sent out my urine to be tested. Was that the reason for your bladder lift? I am going to be be bummed if this continues!!!

I had the bladder lift with the hysterectomy. I had foundout two years ago that my bladder had dropped at my yearly exam. I had no idea it had dropped but the last six months I started to have problems with leakage when I coughed sneezed or bent over when on the floor. So decided I would have both at the same time. The second surgery was because I could not pee so after 2 weeks my dr. went back in and loosened the tape that held my urethra up so I could pee on my own. I think its normal for them to send your urine out to make sure you have no infection. So I wouldnt worry if I were you.
