one year post op advise needed ~ UPDATED
Hi
I am new here and posted on the new person's thread. I had hysterectomy over a year ago and still not feeling well.
GP said bladder leaning on my vagina but feel in pain all of the time. I have appointment next week with the consultant who did the surgery and feel very nervous about possibility of further surgery. It feels like there is constant soreness down there and I can't sit for long without pain. Also very tired and worn out by the whole thing. I am just gone 50 and feel I went from being a youngish woman to an old woman. Not suitable for HRT per the GP and taking all the supplements recomended on this site. Can anyone advise me what options the consultant may give me as I would like to know if there is any non-surgical options for this problem. I want for physio and did all the pelvic floor excercises. Any help appreciated. Many thanks

Re: one year post op advise needed
Hi, I saw both of your posts and I feel for you but I have no experience with this yet. I had the same problems with bladder before surgery so mine may be back too, in time. I hope someone with some experience with this will post soon. I wish you the best. Whatever it takes to make your life better. You are still young and I hope you get to feeling like it soon. Please post again when you find some answers as it may help us sisters. My hysterectomy was a guess too to make me feel better. Good luck.

Re: one year post op advise needed
Dear Beth2.
Thank you for your reply. It is nice to know that somebody out there seems to care. I am so sore with it all and my partner keeps telling me I am a moan etc absolutely anything, problem is I am financially dependent on him and have no job. Had a job but had to give it up becausse I was not fit for work. I couldn't sit and it was in a call centre where I had to sit for hours.
I just hope the consultant can advise me cause I need to find work and get back on my feet.
Thank you for your kind words, really appreciated.

Re: one year post op advise needed
I am so very, very sorry for you, especially as I am also at the 1 year mark but have made a good recovery with no complications.
I hope someone will come along who can give you advice from their experience.
Or that the consultant will explain the options for you in a way that will help you decide easily.
Just know we are here for you with our support, at least!

Enia, Yes, I do care as I'm sure you have many others who care. I am sorry to hear that your partner isn't understanding. I don't think that men can understand that kind of pain, but they should have compassion when we do. I can't know exactly your pain, buy I have hurt down there many times, and I think when your hurting there it's worse than hurting anywhere else on your body. I hope that your doctor will do whatever it takes to help you. Just don't stop until you get some relief. I read what you wrote about being dependent on your partner and I too have been in that situation before. But I am very happily married now for 7 years. Your health first so that you can work. Take care of yourself. Please post again after your doctor visit. Good luck.

Follow up with consultant HRT.
Hi
To those who answered my last thread. I had appointment with consultant this morning and it turns out the pain i was feeling was thrush. So embarrassed and sore after the internal examination. He said the bladder urgency could right itself and put me on HRT and diflucan for the thrush.
I am so tired because yesterday I accidently ate a shell fish product and becuase i am allergic ended up a neighbour bringing me to local doc for an injection. The reaction took over quickly. so now I am on steroids after that, anti histamine, the diflucan for thrush and femtab for HRT ( I think thats the name).
I really thank the people who replied to me but what I am really upset about is my partner, he really does not care about me at all. I just can't believe i spent 14 years with someobody who did not care about my health. ( We don't live together and I am a single parent) Haven't seen him in two weeks. and as soon as I say anything at all he says I am moaning. Really hasnt been there once for me since the hysterectomy. Anyway will soldier on and get physically strong... then look for job...
Thank you all for your support.

Re: one year post op advise needed ~ UPDATED
Hi
After long day feel very sore down below after the internal the consultant did earlier. I don't know why I just feel pulled apart and sore. Nobody around and my younger son gone away for the weekend which is just as well for him. Feel embarrassed that I had thrush visiting the consultant. How did i not know this as I had no itch, which I normally get with thrush, just severe pain in my vagina. So all my efforts to stay of HRT didn't work. I feel my breathing was affected by the incident yesteryday with allergy, on steroids, diflucan, anti histamine and now the HRT too and Canesten suppositories.
Does anyone know how to prevent thrush. I can't understand it as have very good diet,.
Anyway thanks for all your support. Really feel worn out and alone.
Enia
