Excrutiating, sharp, burning pain in my left leg/groin area :-(

So I've had this excruciating, burning sensation in my left upper leg this morning and each time I try to maneuver my way out of bed or change positions. It's enough to make me scream out in agony. I called my surgeons office and the nurse told me this is normal post op pain. Has anyone else experienced this???

Re: Excrutiating, sharp, burning pain in my left leg/groin area :-(

Did you have your ovaries removed? I had my surgery in late May and had lvh with bso. I used to get pain that bad in my left side near my incision, but it was still not as bad as an ovarian cyst when it would twist. It did get better but I had to start sleeping with a pillow between my knees. I had a scan to make sure it was not a hernia at my doctor's recomendation. It has been several months and I find that it still can burn on that same side - I had to move to "granny panties" for a while because the bikini kind push on my incision areas too much.

Talk with your doc about checking for a hernia or pocket of infection - I had to actually see the doctor - the nurse said the same thing. I did feel more assured after talking to my doctor. Hang in there!

I think you can sometimes get a bit of temporary nerve damage due to the way you are positioned during surgery, that can cause a pain like that.

OMG! I have the exact same thing! It hurts to lay on my left side, my right side is completely fine, but my left.... oh my word it burns.. when I try to sit up, and especially when I sneeze... OMG.... it burns SO BAD when I sneeze that I actually curse out loud... I have been googling it and I can't find any info on it.

I have the same pain in my upper left left/groin area. I had my surgery 10 days ago. Does it hurt more when you stand and or touch it? Mine does. I am going to phone the Dr. on Monday if the pain doesn't start to go away.

I found that ice made it go away immediately...I ended up having an MRI and it was normal. There is hope hun, I promise but it took 8 weeks to finally go completely away. Just rest and keep a pillow close by for that sneeze or cough.
