Fatigue, anyone?
Hi all
I'm post op 8 weeks, tah, lost ovaries and had a bladder sling. I was feeling terrific for a while but this past week I seem to be exhausted all the time. I slept 9 hours last night then took another nap about two hours after i woke up, fell asleep during a friend's visit and slept two more hours this afternoon.
And now I'm so tired I can barely stay awake.
What gives? This is getting ridiculous.
Anyone else having this problem?

I've noticed that today, but I'm only 3 weeks out. I hope it goes away for you, especially since you are 8 weeks!

Fatigue, anyone?
Hi ladies! I'm 9 months post op and happy to say feeling great! You need to remember that the recovery process is long and estimated. I had two c-sections before my hyst and figured the surgery would be a walk in the park. I was knocked down a couple of pegs when I was 8 weeks out and still feeling the way you describe Bayou! I would have to say for me it took4 to 4 1/2 months to feel above 70%. But I know others who took on the world after a month!! Don't get down on yourself! As long as you are able to, listen to your body and take a nap if you need to. If you were sleeping every day away then maybe contact your doctor!!
I hope you feel better soon!

Fatigue, anyone?
Yes, the tiredness is normal. As people kept telling me....remember your body went thru MAJOR surgery. While we may feel good on the outside, the inside of us is still healing. Go with the flow.....if you're tired, rest. When I returned to work, I had to have coffee around 3:00 to make it thru the rest of the day. I work at home when not traveling so while the temptation to go to sleep was there, I resisted. But I will admit on some days just a "cat nap" of 15-20 mins at lunch time was refreshing too. I used to travel 4 days every week. My max now is 2 days. Last week was my first week of traveling for a week as I had to go across state. I paced myself and my trip to do it in increments. Then had someone share the driving coming back (7 hrs). But it still has taken me all week to recover.
So listen to your body. Rest, nap and coffee!!! Smile.

Fatigue, anyone?
I'm 8 weeks post-op but still sleeping more than usual. I finally went back to work this past Wed and I'm even more tired now. The first two days, I left work early and came home and took a two hour nap each day.
Today was much better though.

Fatigue, anyone?
I am almost 5 weeks out and today is the first day I've not felt like sleeping every few hours. Yesterday I took my first long car trip 3 hour ride round trip. After I got home I wanted to watch a movie and fell asleep for like an hour. I also napped a few min in car until my husband caught me sleeping and woke me up and told me that since he only slept 3 hours the night before because he couldn't seem to sleep that night, that he was not going to allow me to sleep in the car while he was driving.
My question is has anyone else had their days and nights mixed up since surgery? The night of surgery, I found myself wide awake even with a morphine drip till about 5am. I slept till breakfast and found that i'd sleep in 2 hour increments for the first 2 and a half weeks during the day and then be wide awake until 5am. I'm trying to get my body back on track for going back to work on the 18th but it just seems my body has decided that it wants to sleep during the day and be ready to go at night

Fatigue, anyone?
I think I'm 13 weeks tomorrow and let me say: exhaustion is common. I have a friend who said it took her six months to not feel exhausted. I love to walk........and currently, since I've been back at work since late Aug., ... I have to PUSH myself to walk and do lots of regular chores. And I'm still forgetful (I have said on numerous posts elsewhere that I believe anesthesia destroys brain cells...or at least it did mine).... I realized this a.m. that I did a nice job watering the plants in the living room and study room and totally forgot my bedroom plants)..... so I'm still forgetful and/ or obssessed w/strange ideas and thoughts and I am tired, tired, tired. I am an a.m. person and just lie there, still awake as an a.m. person but not wanting to move, literally, from the bed.
It takes time. Do take it up w/the doctor, but as my new OB said just Friday, everyone heals differently (we were discussing scar tissue) and this exhaustion 'thing'........it IS exhausting, isn't it? I send hugs your way.... to all of you struggling w/extreme exhaustion. E.

Fatigue, anyone?
I have found the exhaustion the hardest thing to over come from this operation. Wonder why this is? I will be 8 weeks post op thiis Thursday and have not returned to work or regular activities. Even though in my mind I think I could tackle it, my body says another thing. I really have to push myself to even get out of the bed in the morning. My husband is still bringing me my coffee in bed so I dont even have to get out for that. Maybe I am still being spoiled to much, but I hate to give it up.

I have very little pain but feel so exhausted all the time. The funny part is the exhaustion only started 1 week ago (i am 31/2 weeks postop) I feel a little depressed and wonder if my ovaries are working...
