Recovery

My procedure was yesterday. Surprised at how good that i feel! Sleepy and crampy sums it up.... Maybe a little moodiness. Okay, a lot of moodiness ( not a great supportive husband) but i guess he's trying. Not!!!
At least i have 2 teenage boys who are a blessing. The dr removed a 2 year old cyst from my right ovary and saved it!!! Only 1 i have left, so i was thrilled. He said my gnarly looking very large uterus came out along with my cervix.
This is my first post.. I have been sitting in the background reading and preparing. It helped more than anyone will ever know, as i had no one to turn to.
Thanks VERY much for this site!!!

Re: Recovery

My surgery was Jan. 31st. I was able to keep my right ovary. I was so worried about being thrown into menopause at age 42! I also did lots of reading which is how I found this site. It helped me get prepared for my surgery and I find it very comforting post op. I know how you feel about having no one to turn to. It's hard when you are young and nobody your age has been through it. My husband is understanding, but I think that he believes that life just goes on as before. I don't think that they mean to be insensitive. I haven't been very moody since my surgery until today. Post op day 5 and I feel like I relapsed. I stepped on the cat and pulled something in my right side. So, I feel frustrated today because it was getting better as each day went by. I feel like I was in a knife fight and lost...lol. Hang in there and best wishes!
