Lump in abdomen, NP doesn't know what it is--NORMAL???

I'm concerned because I had my TAH with all taken but one ovary on 5/23, 11 days ago. Eight days after I was at the dr. to check this fist sized lump you can feel in my right abdomen (the side where they DID take the ovary) and only the Nurse Practioner was there. She examined it TOO much, it really hurt. And she said "huh, I don't know what it is. Call us when dr. is in" Which I did, yesterday, and they are all booked up until next Friday.
This lump moves, and if I sit wrong it's like the scene from Alien, something trying to get out. It's just a bit above my incision.
Anyone experience something similar? Or should I go to another hospital and get it checked???

Lump in abdomen, NP doesn't know what it is--NORMAL???

Hi Kathleen
I had a TAH on the 11may I have the same sort of thing it runs along the top of my incision. It was only on the right side now it is spreading over to the other side. I went to the hospital on tuesday, I was told I have an infection inside with an abscess, the drs put me on antibiotics. I have a discharge to go with.

I would say go get it checked as soon as you can, the last thing you need is something to slow your recovery or put you backwards.

Good luck Ros

{{{{{{{{{{{Kathleen}}}}}}}} I agree with Ros, please go to the ER and get it checked it. Even if it is nothing, your mind will be put at ease. Keep us posted.

I didn't go to the ER, as I really think it's a BIT better. But I do have an appt. with the operating OB on Friday, and I'll let you know. Thanks for your concern and attention.
