2 weeks Monday I'm zapped

Sorry I need to vent a bit. So tired of feeling like this. Can't do a thing without being completely worn out. Just did dishes and folded a load of laundry. My hubby went out to play with his kids and brought mud in. Just what I needed little kids for the weekend!!! Mine are all grown 24, 23, 21 and 20 Carpet had mud all over it (from hubby not even the kids)so of course I got down and scrubbed it only a bit but shouldn't have done that one. Now I feel like I've been up for days. Not going back to work Tues like I thought I would be able so that is depressing too. Just seems like the only people who understand are everyone here. Thanks for being here for me. This site is a God send. Happy Easter to all@

cjgtdg-- I think it's ok to vent. i would of not been happy scrubbing mud off the carpet. heck, i think i would of made the hubby do it. thinking that was pretty rotten of him tracking mud into the house. how inconsiderate of him. anyway...(not really sorry for venting at your hubby)

you have a happy easter too....

Dear Friend
Of course you are zapped-you had MAJOR surgery and need to recouperate so get into your housecoat and go back to bed for 24 hours-doing housework is not on your list-perhaps your adult children could bring you meals and your husband can take over the chores for the next week-If you can stay off work do so for as long as possible-
I am three weeks post op and making good progress and have accepted all the help that has been offered. Look after yourself and it does get easier.
Hugs and be good to yourself.

I hope this doesn't sound like a lecture, but you're doing too much way too soon! As km58 said, you've had major surgery. Healing, with this surgery, takes months, not weeks or even days!! The initial weeks of healing are absolutely vital or you'll end up with problems.

I was told not to do anything more than lift a mug of tea for the first 6 weeks! And it paid dividends. A perfect recovery with no complications.

How come you were going back to work at 2 weeks? Please try to get as much time off as possible.

Rest and pamper!!

Don't overdo

I'm 2 and a half weeks post-op and decided I couldn't stand a messy house any longer. So I decided to break it up a little and do one task at a time with DH doing the heavy stuff. I dusted the house the first day and DH vacuumed. That worked fine. The next day, I tackled the bathrooms. I started feeling really bad about noon. By early evening, my stomach and lower back were hurting. By evening I was feeling as bad as I did the first two days after surgery. The next day, back was still hurting and very tired. Moral of this story: it's not worth setting yourself back over a little dirt. Get help, hire it done, or just live with the dirt for awhile and take care of yourself.

Too much too soon!!!
It's very difficult to leave our caretaking roles behind while recovering and if other family members did not take their part around the house before this surgery they will be clueless and confused now. Even my DH who was a widower with two pre-school kids before we met(31 yrs ago) and who I consider to be really "housebroken" needed some specific instructions.
This is a good learning experience for your teens in preparation for the hysterectomies THEIR wives might need. Do not take it away from them.
Relax and let things slide; enjoy the results.

Oh my goodness, you ARE doing too much! I've been thinking that I've been pushing it and I haven't done half of what you've done. I'm not going back to work for at least 6 wks, hopefully 8wks. I'm thinking I pushed a bit too much today. I just walked around a store with my 12yo daughter. I *NEVER* thought getting her to decide on a white blouse would be this hard. UGH!!! Hubby drove, so all I did was walk into/around the store. I'm totally beat. Tonight, it's back to pampering for me. Our floors are looking kinda grungy from the dog coming/going from the back yard, but it's gonna stay that way for awhile.

Take good care of yourself. Remember what other sisters say "You only have one chance to heal".
