Re: Questions about bladder pain 4 days post-op

So sorry you are having some trouble with your bladder. That can be painful. When you feel up to it we'd love to have you on the recovery thread for your surgery week located here - November 5-11. It was very helpful to me to post with my same week sister who were going through it right with me. Looking forward to seeing you sister!!

Re: Questions about bladder pain 4 days post-op

Thanks everyone for the replies. It helps a lot just knowing I'm not alone. I called the doctor's office and spoke with a nurse. I am to go in first thing in the morning to leave a urine sample. Meanwhile, I bought Azo home UTI test strips and it came back very positive. So I'll be choking down cranberry juice until tomorrow. Blech. I stupidly insisted on riding along to Walmart with my mom to get cranberry juice and to walk "a bit". I should have listened to my mother. That is a huge store. I never realized how much I take walking and being able to side-step a toddler who is excited about the Christmas aisle for granted. I got ran over twice! On the bright side my bowels are moving today. Maybe the walk wasnt all bad. Never thought I would celebrate pooping again. haha. I will post again after I have a confirmed Dx on the UTI. I kinda hope that's all it is.

Re: Questions about bladder pain 4 days post-op

I had what I can only describe as bladder spasms for a little over two weeks post-op, then all of a sudden it was better. I even went so far as so ask my doc at my two week to see if I had a bladder infection.

Hope you feel better soon!

Re: Questions about bladder pain 4 days post-op

Saw the doctor today. He said no infection just a little blood in my urine. He said basically what you ladies have been telling me. The bladder takes time to get used to a new place and it doesn't like being handled. I got to see the photos of my bladder and uterus that were taken during surgery. That was ....er.....interesting. He said I was likely over doing it and I should be patient and I will heal. So I will try.
In the meantime, I messed around on google until I read about something called a fistula and I freaked right out! Now I am paranoid about that. I've got to get a grip. I think my hormones are making my anxiety worse. I am noticing lots of worry and panicky feelings.
