Pre op food

Hi,
My surgery is in two days. I have to "drink the drink" starting at 5 and ten eat bland food. But..nothing after midnight. Does that make sense? Food after magnesium ......? If o..what's bland?

Was it bland food or a liquid diet? I was given the instructions to eat a light breakfast the day before surgery and then only clear liquids like broth or jello afterward. I drank two bottles of magnesium citrate, one at 2 and one at 5. Nothing after midnight. My surgery was at 7 am.

You may want to call your surgeon's office tomorrow for clarification.

I would definitely call to ask because there is a big difference between bland and liquid diet. I didn't have to do bowel prep before my surgery so I can't answer from experience. Sorry.

I was on a liquid diet the day before surgery.

Bland food is nothing rich or spicy, no alcohol. Plain food. Try to relax. Good luck.
