ovarian cyst

I am 78 years old and am scheduled for an open hysterectomy on May 22nd, because of a cyst/mass on my right ovary. I have also just been diagnosed with Lyme Disease after over a year of seeing one doctor after another. I have never had major surgery and am very scared. I plan to get a second opinion before surgery.

Wow - Lyme Disease can be so draining. I am sorry it took so long for them to diagnose it. Thank goodness they didn't put off checking out your ovary.

I am so sorry you are dealing with Lyme disease and a potential hysterectomy for an ovarian cyst. Getting a second opinion is a good idea, and you will also need to know if they can even do surgery with you having Lyme disease.
