Surgery finally scheduled!

Hi Ladies!! I havent posted in awhile, but im back. My surgery is scheduled for January 15th!! I had it re-scheduled several times because of insurance, doctors schedule and I had pneumonia. But it looks like this time its gonna be it!! So here is my dilemma. My doctor wants to also remove both ovaries. I have cysts alot and he said if we left them and had to go back in later to remove them, it would be harder because of scar tissue. Im only 41 and dont want to have to go through premature menopause, hormones, etc. But then another part of me says just take it all, and save me the trouble later! I have been reading up on HRT and I am SO confused!!!! I dont know what to do!!! Does anybody have any advice???

Re: Surgery finally scheduled!

I had my TAH BSO at age 46 for a large ovarian cyst and fibroids. My doc said that the right ovary would do the same thing within a few years and thus recommended that everything come out. I took his advice.

I know the info on HRT is SOOOO confusing and conflicting.

I had to go on ERT because I was very MISERABLE with the dump into surgical menopause. I am currently on 0.5 mg of estadiol. It game me my life back.

Talk to your doctor about what options are available for you.
