4 days post op itchy belly

I haven't posted much, but I've been lurking and so thankful for all the good info I've received here. I'm 4 days post-op from a DaVinci hysterectomy to remove Essure implants. I've been home since Sunday afternoon. I break out in a rash when I come into contact with adhesives (band-aids, tapes, steri strips, etc.). My arm where my IV was and my leg where my catheter was taped down is broken out but right now what really is bothering me is that my belly is itching like crazy. Any suggestions on how to deal with the itch? Anything safe to put on the incision sites?

Re: 4 days post op itchy belly

Try and avoid scratching, you don't want to introduce any germs to the area. Maybe a cold pack wrapped in a towel will ease the itchy-ness. I used to pat the area around my incision when it was super itchy, anything to avoid that oh so attractive jolly good scratch.
