Will I need a swelly belly band???

I had the LAVH as well. I had what I called "jelly belly." It was all loose and jiggly. I did not need the swelly belly band, but since each of us are different, you won't know until after your hyst how your bellly will be. Many that have used the swelly belly band have loved it! Best wishes to you!

belly...

I asked for a 'belly binder' during my pre-op, just in case I had a TAH, but I ended up having a TVH! I still woke up with the belly binder and I do think it provided the extra support I needed but the nurses kept asking me if I wanted to take it off because I didn't have the TAH! Whatever, it made me feel better having that extra support.
Its been almost three weeks since my surgery and I do notice that if I do too much I get a little achey in my back and just a bit bloated, aside from the expected fatigue from surgery.
Ask your surgeon for the belly binder! It won't hurt to have it.
Take care!

Will I need a swelly belly band???

Hi Imokay,

While you may not need the swelly belly band after your surgery, it can provide you with some cool comfortable relief, not only from the swelling but from soreness and pain. I didn't get one because I didn't think I would NEED one either, but I found myself trying to make do with ice packs and such. I wished I had ordered one, I think it would have been much easier to use.

S,
Kay

Will I need a swelly belly band???

Thanks for the advice. I think that I will get the swelly belly. I can pass it to one of my sisters for cramps after I am done.
