Bowel Probs after Hyster

I am 8 weeks today and for the past two weeks or so I have what amounts to IBS. It usually hits me once a week or so and I can't get far from the bathroom. Has anyone else experienced this? I never had this prior to my surgery so I wonder if it has something to do with it. In fact I used to only go two or three times a week and now it's everyday for sure but sometimes my stomach cramps and I have runny stool (sorry if TMI). I plan to ask my doctor about it but I don't go back until the end of Sept.

Be sure and ask the dr. Mine have not been the same since surgery. But I know my diet is not the same. No more soda, caffeine and alcohol. And I am drinking a LOT more water. When I asked my PCP she said that they move everything around to get where they need to go and it takes a while for your bowels to settle down. She was more concerned that I was not constipated which would indicate a blockage. She didn't seem too concerned as long as I was still going. If it is worrying you or gets to be too much, call the dr and discuss. I have chatted with the nurse about several things and she if very nice about it.

Hang in there. It does get better.

hey! me too

You just described my situation but i am only 1 week out. I just had 1st checkup and asked doc about it and he didnt have an answer for me. Before surgery i took 2 colace everymorning to be able to go every 3-4 days. So far have not had to do that obviously. I do feel better but something a little more regular would be nice!

I was off work today anyway (took a day to rest) and I got up feeling nauseous and had the bowel thing for about 2 hours then everything was okay. Nothing hurts or feels strange so it might be my inside parts getting their groove again.
