I'm Home from the Castle!

Hi Sisters!
I got home from the castle yesterday around 2 pm. My surgery went well on Monday at 730 AM. My doctor was able to do a TVH BSO without a lap or abd. He got everything and said all looked good, but of course is sending some things to the lab to make sure.

I've very sore all over, but I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and it's raining here today, so I know that has something to do with it, but my lymph nodes on my neck seem very sore to the touch, maybe because of the tubes they put down your throat during surgery?

My stomach is swollen and sore as well as my hips and sides, but I guess that is because of the surgery, position of the legs and the fact that I had a spinal fusion last July and am still recouperating from that. I can't seem to find a comfortable position to lay for very long.

My doctor and the nurses were wonderful and were in and out both days checking on me all the time. They saw my Hyster Sisters book and gown and loved it. They even wrote down the web address and said they were going to check it out and recommend it to others.

Thank you all for the wonderful cards and support. I will definitely be around for any of you that would like to correspond and will be posting on the post op board too.
As soon as I feel more like sitting up and not so and from the pain meds.

Time to lay back down.

I'm Home from the Castle!

Linda Welcome home!!! Getting comfortable is a daily problem for several weeks. Take pain meds as prescribed...and use LOTS of pillows. REST, REST, REST - feet up. Drink LOTS of water and juice and stay away from carbonated drinks and gasy foods for awhile

I'm Home from the Castle!

Greetings, Princess Linda! Doesn't it feel great to be on this side of things finally? Glad you are home and recovering. Sorry about your pain--does a heating pad help? I use a moist heat one, and it sure works great for me, but I don't know about RA.

Good luck in your recovery.

Lots of hugs,

Welcome Home Linda!

So glad you are home. Try using lots of pillows in different arrangements til you find a comfy position. My king sized pillows were the best for me.

Remember to rest, drink, and let your body heal!!! It's great to have you on the other side!
