Bladder/Lower pelvic pain

I had my LAVH 4/4/2007 and have nothing but grief ever since. Initially, I was having lower pelvic pain that would come and go. I was told that I was healing and the pain would go away. I have had more pain in the past several weeks that has gotten so severe that my husband had to take me to the ER. It seems to be worse in the morning when I wake up to empty my bladder. Halfway through it feels like someone has a hook in my lower left side of my pelvis and theye are pulling my insides out. I have pain on the lower right as well that never really goes away (felt like appendicitis). The surgeon told me today that he wants me to have an IVP with a voiding cystourethrogram. I wanted him to just do an exploratory laparoscopy but he doesn't seem to want to find out what is wrong with me. I keep asking him about adhesions and he keeps telling me he seriously doubts it (yet he wont look inside to see). He wants me to see a psychiatrist as well because he said that I am a chronic pain patient and I guess they worry aboout someone turning to drugs or alcohol or becoming suicidal. Any advise>? I feel like no one really cares that I am in agonizing pain and wont find out what's causing it. I had the hys. to improve my quality of life - I have had more problems since I had it then before. Thanks for letting me vent.

Bladder/Lower pelvic pain

Hi Lori, sorry you are having so many problems. I too have had my share and still going through some painful issues. Since you live in my area, I can relate to the doctors not giving you the time needed to be able to treat you. I gave up after seeing several in our area and now am being treated by the Cleveland Clinic in Weston. I am very happy with the doctors there so perhaps that is something you may consider too. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

I would go see another Doctor. They think once you have surgery you should be fine. Well they just don't know how we are should feel. I get so mad at them. Good luck and let me know what happens.

I tried that. No other doctor wants to see me as they don't want to deal with another surgeon's 'problem.'
