just one question

Hi all,
does anyone know the size a uterus can be inorder to due a laparoscopic surgery? That didn't come out right. I've been reading about the lap and I can't find a cut off size...like 12 week or 14 week size.
I just returned from being with by brother who had an entire kidney and surrounding parts removed with a lap. Doctors cut, bagged, mulched and brought it out through a tiny hole. That's what I want!!
Anyone?

That is exactly what I needed. I even read the procedure and have some questions for my doctor. This is not an option to a hysterectomy but an option for an easier hysterectomy if one fits the criteria. Thank you for taking the time to direct me to a good site. I will further my reading with your google suggestion.

I had two large fibroids. 6.5 and a 8.5 cm. I did (3) months of lupron shots to shrink them for a LSH (Laparoscopic SupraCervical Hysterectomy).

There are some big fibroid lap sisters here in Hyster Sister World and I am one of them. I know a few others via PM.

My 1st Dr. recommended a TAH because of the size of my fibroids. I decided to get a 2nd opinion and my new Dr. recommended the lupron shots and a LSH.

With large fibroids, it is my opinion you will get varying opinions on what "size" uterus is okay for a lap surgery.

Best thing is to just do your research and talk to your Dr. I wanted to exhaust all my possibilites and today, I am 6-weeks post op from my LSH surgery. And I am VERY happy with my surgery results.!!! I would do it again in a second!!
