2 weeks and now so weak

I have been doing well until today. It is day 14 after and I as so weak. No fever or pain just weak and tired. Why now? My stress level has increased a bit but cannot think why I would be feeling this way now? Any encouragement?

Re: 2 weeks and now so weak

I am 5 weeks post op and some days I feel bursts of energy and other days I feel like staying in bed all day. We have gone through major surgery and we have to take it one day at a time. Actually I learned to take it minute by minute because one minute i might feel great and the next I might not feel well with low energy. Hang in there the worst part is over.

Re: 2 weeks and now so weak

I had same thing happen to me. It means you need to rest! I would be feeling pretty good, then cook, laundry, pick up around the house, be tired later that day...then crash the next day! Also, you might want to consider your diet/vitamins, my Dr. put me on iron when I came home, you may have loss some blood during surgery. Also make sure you are eating carbs, now's not the time to have a strict diet. Hang in there it'll get better! I'm 3 1/2 weeks and feeling better this week than last!

Re: 2 weeks and now so weak

I had my surgery in late October (SAH BSO) and it wasn't until week 5 that I began to get some of my energy back. And there were (and still are) days when I need to put my feet up and rest. Just last week I had another bout of fatigue and found myself taking a quick nap every afternoon. I couldn't figure out why. I spoke with my doctor about another issue just this week, and he assured me this is normal. The initial post-surgical recovery is six weeks but he would not consider the recovery to be complete until about six months out.

Hang in there!

Re: 2 weeks and now so weak

Read the checkpoints. It is quite normal for you to feel exhausted one day and then great the next. It's all apart of the healing process. Listen to your body and just rest.

Re: 2 weeks and now so weak

I agree w/ everyone else. You are still very early in your recovery, no matter what anyone tell you! I agree rest and let your body heal. This surgery is much more than any of us bargained for, I think! I think about 2 1/2-3, was honestly when I felt the most tired. I think it's just the point when we kinda start to feel better and don't realize our bodies are still in shock. Many (((HUGS))) and prayers that you get feeling better soon.

Re: 2 weeks and now so weak

After the last two days I canceled my January Term College Class and have decided to be as careful as possible. Darn those people who want me to be super woman. I am going to take my time!
