TLH About sex

I had a TLH four weeks ago and see my doctor in two weeks for a check up. I had my cervix removed but he told me I didn't get a cuff. He said he stitched the sides of where my cervix used to be together. I know I still have a few weeks to go before I am cleared for sex but when it does come time I am going to be a little nervous. My husband and I can't wait for the ok but we are both nervous.

Hmmm... I thought where it was stitched together was called the cuff?? It seems like when they do the stitching, they would have to stitch where the cervix used to be. There is some technicality here that I am missing! Anyone know the answer here?

You really should wait for the OK from your doctor! I don't want to scare you, but your stitches could tear and you are still healing. Some fellow sisters have had some frightening things happen when those stitches have torn. Please wait for the all clear from your doctor-- he is the expert.

I have no idea about the cuff but I asked him about it and he said no that I had something else and described to me stitching the sides together so I am confused as you are. I know to wait for sex I was just saying when I do get cleared for it I am going to be nervous.
