So sore

My surgery was yesterday. I had the robotic. How long will this soreness and gas pain last? It is really bothering me. I can barely get up and down!
It's really frustrating!!

Re: So sore

It will get better. You are only a day post surgery. It took me about a week before the soreness was better. Be sure to rotate your pain meds on a schedule. It is easier to keep pain at bay than to try and get rid of it once it is present. Also, watch your diet. I found that warm liquids helped- hot tea my favorite. It will get better. Rest, don't do anything strenuous- really don't do much of anything at all and you will feel better soon.

Re: So sore

The gas is the worst. Make sure to drink plenty of water and walk a little each hour that you are not resting. The walking will help with the gas. I know that it hurts, but try to stand up as straight as you can, not doubled over when you walk, it'll help. You can try taking Gas X, that may help a little.

As for the pain, you don't want to wait until the pain gets really bad before taking something so take your pain meds as scheduled. You'll want to stay ahead of the pain.

I know that this is frustrating but in there sweetie. It won't always be this way. It may not seem like it right now but it does get better. It just takes a little time.

Re: So sore

Try a heating pad also for the gas along with a little walking. Keep taking you pain meds so your body can focus on healing.Best things you can do is rest and drink lots of water.
You will feel better in a few weeks.

Re: So sore

I am two weeks post hysterectomy. It took about a week and a half for my gas pain and soreness to go away. I still get sore if I do too much, but that is it. You will start to feel better soon. Good luck!
