bladder problems after TAH

Hello all!!
Just wondering if those of you who have had a TAH have had any bladder problems afterwards? I'm wondering if you lose your cervix and uterus could that increase your chances of having a prolapsed bladder? Thanks for all the support you all so freely give!!!

bladder problems after TAH

I have not had my TAH yet I have it the 23rd. My doctor is going to band my bladder while he is in there. He basically said they will be pulling it tighter and that will help it from dropping as well as help me so everytime I cough or sneeze I dont wet myself. After 4 kids I have a week bladder. I was so happy when he said that he would be doing the banding,He said it only takes 15-20 minutes more after everything else is removed, uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries. Ask your doctor about doing that while hes in there.

bladder problems after TAH

I had SAH/BSO (kept my cervix) and have had no bladder problems. I used to run for the bathroom every 15-20 minutes before surgery, but no more!!! I can even sleep through the night instead of waking up 2 or 3 times to go to the bathroom.

bladder problems after TAH

I had my TAH/BSO over two years ago and have had no problems with incontinence. Prior to surgery I was up a couple of times a night, due to the pressure of my uterus on my bladder.

I didn't have any type of bladder sling, etc.

Hope this helps!

Thanks everyone. I was just worried cause I am only 23 and don't really have any bladder problems yet and don't want to have any because of my TAH. Again Thanks everyone.
