Re: what is normal

At 3 days post op, it's normal to still be in pain, still take pain meds, and to take ibuprofen for its anti-inflammatory properties.

3 days post op you should be resting, getting up to pee, eating small meals, walking around, and hydrating, hydrating, hydrating. You should be making sure you are having BMs.

You shouldn't be bending, stretching, lifting, pushing or pulling anything heavier than a gallon of milk. No vacuuming, no sweeping, no mopping.

You should be giving your body time to heal after a VERY major surgery.

I also had a TVH, back is sore most likely from position you're in during surgery and does get better. Doctor told me to use a diaper rash cream on vagina when I complained it was sore and that helped a lot. I sat in a recliner for about 3 weeks so that I wasn't sitting straight up. Putting an ice pack between your legs helps with swelling. I have had a good recovery and at approx. 8 weeks I'm feeling almost normal but not as energetic as I'd like to be yet.

Re: what is normal

I been there, your back hurts, due to you use it more to move and get in and out of bed, because the abdominal was cut and sore.

Rest, rest, get some sleep and take it ease.

The normal will come give it time.
