bladder repair
I keep seeing references to bladder repair. What is that exactly, and what does it entail? My bladder drives me crazy sometimes--I can't jog without a pad. Can they fix that? Jodi

bladder repair
I just had complete hysterectomy with bladder repair. It was advised by my surgeon because of my age(47) and the nature of the surgery. Apparently it kind of goes with the territory so to speak. It would prevent incontinence as I age . I did a little research and there are very good results when done with vaginal hysterectomy. I came home with a super pubic catheter which most have for aboout 4 weeks. It is simple to take care of. I am still recovering but so far so good. I have almost retrained myself so should only be another week and the catheter will come out. Best of luck to you. If you have any more questions feel free to e-mail me.

bladder repair
I had a bladder tack and only had to have the catheter while I was in the hospital. So far it is working great and I'm glad I did it. However, I will never be able to lift anything heavy again or I could pull the stitches that they used to stitch my bladder to my pubic bone. My procedure was an Open Burch (Birch?--I've seen it spelled both ways) procedure. I've read that a hysterectomy can cause incontinence in many so it would be wise to have it taken care of while they're already in there, so to speak. The recovery is considered to be slightly less than that for a hysterectomy. Good luck to you!
