Surgery moved back a day, for good cause

I had my final apt today before my surgery! The dr asked if I would mind moving my surgery back a day due to there was a woman scheduled the next day and due to her family issues she would not have a ride home :-( I didn't mind moving back a day! I felt bad for her! My Dr said I would be his star patient the next day for being a good person :-) and gave me his word that I would be home by noon! Whoop whoop
One of my good friends is having her surgery tomorrow & the only thing she has had to do was not eat after midnight! !! I have to clean myself with these antibacterial wipes the day before and drink some sort of calcium stuff to "flush my pipes" && not eat anything solid the day before! Anyone else??

How nice of you to move to allow your surgery to be moved. You get and an from me!

I had to to the bowel prep with the calcium citrate, and was on a clear liquid diet after noon the day before surgery. While not pleasant, the bowel cleanse was not as bad as I thought. Just be home and near a toilet when you start the cleanse.

Mine was no eating or drinking from midnight on. Night before had to shower with Hibiclens antibacterial soap, put clean P.J.'s on and clean sheets and bedding. Then in the morning shower again with the Hibiclens antibacterial soap and again clean cloths.

You are a very nice person and your karma will be good! I just had my pre-op with my surgeon yesterday...no bowel prep! (I was dreading that). However, she wanted me to start on Miralax right away (I started last night). She also said nothing after midnight the night before my surgery. But no clear liquid diet or anything like that. However, I have decided that I will be eating very light on Tuesday...eggs and toast for breakfast, soup for lunch and dinner and lots of water. Different surgeons say different things...it all depends on your doctor and your surgery. Good luck with your surgery!

Yeah the only part I'm worried about is the bowel prep! I am not married but my boyfriend and I live together (4 years) and I have never once so much as even farted in front of him!!! (Well n my sleep buy that doesn't count!) So I am super nervous about this part! He will be @ work for most of the day before anyway but home by 3!!!! Eek just thinking about this makes mt stomach turn into knots!! I'm sure it sounds young and lame but I hate body sounds!! I try to stay as much a lady as I can

I have been through bowel cleanse twice - once for my hysterectomy and once for my colonoscopy.

It is not the best way to spend an evening, but good news is you get dibs on the bathroom! As I said before, just be home when you start this. Everyone is different, and sometimes it happens very quickly, and sometimes it can take a 4 or 5 hours.

You will get through it.... just one more step in the process.
