Re: Pedicure
Okay, Petrified...I need to know what you had on your toes to get a comment like that. I want nice toes too so what's your secret? Need all details including colour etc. Would be a nice treat to look forward too. Thanks. xoxo.

Re: Pedicure
I kept my pedicure. I had gel on my fingernails. No one said I couldn't. But it's so hard to take off for an ER. So I took it off and painted clear nail polish on mine.

Re: Pedicure
I asked at pre-op yesterday and they said go ahead with pedicure but leave fingernails clear since they already are.

Re: Pedicure
Had a semi pamper me day with my 2nd daughter, pre-op screening on Thursday (4/4) where I did my facial waxing and a pedi. My daughter wants me to do a full mani/pedi but I told her I had to check with the dr about polish. I'm trying to do little things to help me feel human before surgery that can carry over to after surgery (I hope that makes sense to y'all).

Re: Pedicure
Pooh _Bear, it makes perfect sense. That's why I am doing mine. I figure I can at least look at pretty toes while I'm healing. Small, but I know it will make me smile.

Re: Pedicure
Hi Pooh_Bear, your're a girl after my own heart! Firstly let me wish you the best of luck for your up and coming surgery. You'll be just fine and it will be over before you know it! I had my TLH on the 12th of March this year and the week before my surgery I pampered myself with a manicure and pedicure, hair cut, eyebrow wax and tint (I have a few grey hairs in my eyebrows), no polish on hands or feet. (pre-op instructions from my doctor and they are all different so do indeed check) I had my nails 'buffed' and polished so that there was a natural shine on the nails. It looked like I had clear nail polish on so it still looked great and has lasted for quite a long time. It's a great idea to do this pre-op pampering because then it gives you time to re-coup afterwards. So you go girl! you've got your priorities right, the rest will come!!!! Take care and wishing you a smooth recovery. Will be looking forward to reading your first post-op post...you'll do great! Hugs, xoxo.

Re: Pedicure
Thank you Selias....Getting my hair braided next week and a 'final' mani/pedi the next day....I'm really trying to get the nerve for that leg wax because I know it'll be a while before I can bend to shave....lol! So glad your surgery went well....May you continue to have a relaxing recovery!!

Re: Pedicure
Hey Pooh_Bear!!!!
Glad to hear your pampering yourself! No drama if you don't get your legs waxed. (I'm the same as you, I only wax my eyebrows out of necessity because I wear glasses and can't see my face when I take them off!). Even a hair removal cream a couple of days before will do and it will get you past your surgery day. But only if you used hair removal cream before. I wouldn't recommend using anything new now just in case you get a reaction to it like a rash and that by the way goes for the leg wax as well. So whatever you decide to do don't leave it until just before, to be aware of any reactions. As I said I used the cream removal and used one that you can rinse off in the shower so no bending required. Not having to bend was also a plus after the hysterectomy.
So take care sweetie. Not long to go now and we'll be waiting for you on the other side to greet the Princess that you are!. Hugs, hugs, hugs, xoxo.
