Re: My "ear ringing" friends, please comment!
So I saw an ENT today and he told me he thinks ear ringing is coming from low E. He suggested the same thing about the fan (!!!!!! ). I just think that nobody understand where its coming from, just appear to be very common in menopause... BUT I have noticed its not as bad as it was so probably my patch is finally starting to work after a month!

Re: My "ear ringing" friends, please comment!
This week I was told that the earring ringing could be from inflammation in my blood by one of my doctors. I did get an ana test which was positive and an hscrp test which was high. My cholesterol jumped up from 130's to 190's. Estradiol test is really low.... Also I was anemic pretty much my whole life after surgery no longer anemic which is good I guess. It's very interesting that no one knows for sure what causes the tinnitus and many say there is no cure and yet....I have some days I don't hear it at all so there must be a cure somewhere here and other days it is so loud I can't stand it. So why the fluctuations? Got to be the hormones, inflammation or blood flow...I wish we could figure this out maybe we could make millions...lol We need to have our own women's study.

As a friendly reminder, this is the Surgical Menopause message board, which is specifically for women who have no uterus, no ovaries, and who are established on hormone therapy. We have five hormone message boards, each with a specific focus. We invite you to use the hormone forum which matches your circumstances:
Hormone and Menopause Central - For pre-op and early post-op members' questions as they decide whether or not to use hormones. It's also a good place for those who are just starting out on hormones.
No Ovaries – Yes HRT – Surgical Menopause - This message board is for those who are fully healed from surgery, have no ovaries and are established on hormone therapy.
No Ovaries - No Hormones - Managing Menopause - This message
board is for post-op members who have no ovaries who can't or choose not to use hormone therapy.
Natural Menopause - Use this message board if you are post-hysterectomy and have one or both ovaries.
Kept Uterus - No Ovaries - This is the forum to use if you still have your uterus but have had your ovaries removed.
Please start a new thread of your own if you have questions to ask.
If you have any questions about this, feel welcome to contact a forum Hostess for further help.

Re: My "ear ringing" friends, please comment!
April can you switch this topic in another forum please? I think it is important to keep it to post our progress.
I've been working in science for more than 20 years and this is probably why I just need to understand where this monstruous ear ringing is coming from. I think this will help me accept it. Imtrying I totally agree with you. Our ear ringing is an indication of a major change in our body.
-vascular (blood flow, migraines/which are also related to neurologic but mine are definitely vascular dilatation/constriction linked)
-inflammation (I also have other inflammation issues going one for years prior to surgery)
-hormonal (menopause imbalance or HRT??? - estradiol is a vasodilatator which gives me migraines + provoke major water retention)
I would also add:
-systemic/metabolic problems (thyroid, diabetes, fluid retention)
-vestibular or sensorial problem (meniere, hydrops, neurosensorial hearing loss)
I know that mine started after complete oestrogen depletion but also trying desesperately to increse estradiol at very high dosage. I had a major shock. Sometimes I can feel my whole body pulsing, meaning that vascular system have radically changed. I also believe fluid retention has something to do as my ear ringing flares up when I eat very salty food. It also comes with dizziness, like drunk feeling. So at this point, I think my problem is coming form vestibular and vascular changes together.
So first, I will try to switch HRT method. I really hope this will help. I do not think this will completely go away but I think it can decrease to an acceptable level. I will also add moderate exercice. It will help the weight I have gained in a year since surgery and it is proven that it can also help tinnitus.
My ENT told me to live with it. Very easy to say when you are not the one trying to sleep at night in pure chaos.
