just an update.

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know visit on 10/2 with
Dr. went better than expected.
After telling her about this site and
showing her some research I printed up,
she wrote me a script for Estrace 2mg a day
and Provera 2.5mg 1/2 tablet day.
She first gave me one for a progesterone
gel, but when I got to the
pharmacy and they told me it was 189.00
I had them call and change it.
I dont have insurance as I work for my husband
who's self-employed. Well maybe it's just my
imagination but I slept better last night than I
had in a long time. I hope this is going to work.
She told me to wait a month if it didn't seem to work
we would try a testosterone cream.
Thanks for all the advice.
My prayers are with all of you.

$189.00????????? You have got to be kidding! Maybe they were quoting you the price for a six month's supply. I think the progesterone is a better choice than the provera and don't want you to give up on it. I suggest asking the pharmacy if that's the correct price and if it is, why the high cost. Usually a month's supply of progesterone costs from $30 to $60 depending on the strength.

Thanks Lauren, I'll call today and try to find out
if thats the 6 months supply or not.
I never thought to ask just thought the perscription
was monthly like the rest.
Will the gel be better than the pill?
I just thought they were the same just different
packaging. By the way, if this works (new drugs)
do you think I might be able to get off the blood
presure meds? I never needed them until I was on the
Premarin.
Well got to go.
Thanks for the info.

I feel like the progesterone is better than the provera and the dosage form you choose for the progesterone is a matter of preference. It is a possibility your blood pressure will improve when your hormones become balanced.
