Two Days To Go

Hi
I am two days pre-op. . I am having a LAVH-BSO. I can't wait.... I have been waiting a month now and it is driving me crazy. I couldn't do my daily exercise because it made me bleed more. (fibroids is my new curse word. Instead of saying Oh ****, I am saying Oh Fibroids!! (not really)

I really don't have any fears except the side effects of the general anesthetic. I hope it goes as planned. My hemiglobin (spt???) is at 6 as of last Tues. for my pre-op visit. DD put me on some new iron pills she would like it at 10. I hope they work because I am not putting this off.

I am gearing myself to rest but I know it will be hard to sit still if I am feeling better.

Wish me luck
Marian

P.S. For those who have read my earlier post, even thought my insurance said they will only cover this "out patient" my DD said she will not release my sooner than 48hr. That made me feel better. And she promises me that I should be golfing in four weeks......time will tell. (if the LAVH goes as planned)

That's great, Marian. Hope your iron goes up. Remember to take the iron supplement with a Vitamin C drink, like OJ or grapefruit juice...it boosts the absorption.

Good news about the hospital stay. It seems that the Ins. companies will say whatever they think they can get away with, but a strong doctor seems to win out almost every time. Glad it's working out for you with that.

Let us know how everything goes!! Please don't try to rush your recovery, though....you get ONE chance to heal!!!!

Two Days To Go

Karen,
Thanks for the support. I had read about the Vitamin C about two weeks ago. I wish I had known that all these years I have been taking the iron.

I really feel good about going into surgery. I wish everyone waiting were not so hesitant, but everyone is different. I am so ready to be rid of all these pads and cramping, bloating feelings that this surgery will be a relief. My only concern is that my LAVH-BSO will turn into a TAH. But...what will be will be.

Hi MarianLW,
I will be sending you positive thoughts. The waiting is the hardest part, it must be. I have not been sleeping through the night at all. My surgery is 5/21, I am mostly concerned with the recovery period because I am an active person. I like to do things myself. That will be hard for me. Anyway, I will be thinking of you and hoping your recovery is quick. Keep us informed let us know how you are doing.
