Re: Anybody buy a body pillow?

I love my body pillow. I have even named him Edgar for kicks. My dh gets a kick out of that. I use it to help me sleep on my side when my neck has caused me to have some nasty headaches. A body pillow certainly helps support myself along with another pillow to help me get rid of it. All the pillows help me to sleep at night.

Re: Anybody buy a body pillow?

I got mine at Kohls for $8.99. I loved having it. I laid it on my belly and wrapped it under my legs when lying on the couch. Then I used in the bed when I moved from couch to bed to help me lie on my side and I tucked the ends of it between my knees. After I didn't need belly help anymore, I just put it between me and DH so he couldn't roll over and hit me or elbow me or anything in the night. Worked wonders and DH even tried to steal it! I found it very useful for helping with sleep at all stages.

Re: Anybody buy a body pillow?

I have used a body pillow for years. I wrap my legs around it and then my arms around it too in order to keep it near my belly. But prior to the surgery; I used it since it helped with my hip pain.

It is a good investment and mine is about 5 ft or so long.

Re: Anybody buy a body pillow?

You may find the 'body heat' a bit too much... many of our thermostats go awry after surgery for a while, ovaries removed or kept, and the last thing we want is to be up against a heat source.

Re: Anybody buy a body pillow?

Being based here in Ireland I am not sure where to buy one of these - must do a search on Ebay. Seems to sell just about anything.

What about someone who sleeps on their stomach? This is the only way I can sleep. Can't remember how I slept after my previous surgeries. Help!!!

Re: Anybody buy a body pillow?

I actually considered using my husband as a body pillow but I didn't think he wanted to sleep in one position the whole night. Plus also as previously mentioned, Body Heat along with my being concerned I would be hit in the abdomen.

I finally just bit the bullet and tried sleeping on my stomach in week 2 or 3, and it was heavenly. I really missed being able to sleep that way but I was afraid I would hurt myself. I finally just did it, and never looked back. Good luck!
