3wkspost op..chronic headache, quesiness and blue.
A little over 3 wks since my hysterectomy..pain is gone but to say I am exhausted is an understatement. I wake up every day feeling naseaus and have chronic low level headaches all day for the past 5 days (Neither was ever a problem before). I haven't been taking any pain meds because I am not having abdominal pain but I find I need to take the 800mg of motrin for the headaches and it doesn't seem to make a huge difference either way.I am also very sad and feeling forgotten by the people that seemed to be a support 3 weeks ago. I know that kno-one else can stop their lives just becasue I have stopped mine to a large degree but it is very discouraging. I feel like the headaches and nausea may be due to just being so dog tired, Anyone else in or been in the same ship, that feels like its almost sinking? I realize I am having a pity party but and that in the big picture this isn't awful but I just feel like few people in my life seem to be recognizong how hard this, alll they say is that I look great! Well, I feel like crap...! Some support would be appreciated

Have you checked with your doctor about your issues? You should be starting to feel better but then again, at about the 3 to 4 week mark, it is one step forward and 2 steps back. Check out our Hysterectomy Checkpoints to help you understand what to expect at this stage of recovery. In the meantime, I am sending you a cyberhug in the hopes it makes you feel better.

What do you think the headaches are about?? Just stress? fatigue? Do you find anyhting that helps?

I'm pretty sure it's the hormonal imbalance caused by the hysterectomy. Excedrine migraine sometimes helps, and I find when I take my vi-Pak regularly they're greatly diminished. That has also helped my hot flashes.
