anyone have similar symptoms?

Hi everyone,
I am soooo thankful to have found this website. I changed the subject line. I keep coming back to the computer to see if anyone has responded. I feel lost about all of this. I'm gonna list what's been going on with me and if anyone has had similar symptoms I'd appreciate your feedback. My description is long but please bear with me.
Starting Dec 24th I had pain in my side and down into my left groin area. I had also been experiencing incontinence around the time of my period which have always been heavy and painful. Blood in my urine had me sent for an xray of my kidneys on Jan 8th. No kidney stones so the next step was a vaginal ultrasound on Jan 14th. My period hit on Jan 12th - very painful. The ultrasound only showed a few small cysts so I then had an abdominal/pelvic cat scan on Jan 16th. That whole week I was so bloated and full of pressure I could not lay on my side or stomach, I looked 8 mths pregnant. I also felt as if something inside was pushing on my diaphragm making me have these coughing spasms. Friday night the 16th the coughing and pressure was worse and at 10 pm I had chest pain, heat flying throughout my feet, legs and chest and my heart beat sped up to about 160 beats. My mom called 911 and in the emergency room the "attack" happened 3 more times. EKG and blood work showed heart attack but three days later Monday Jan 19th a Heart Cath was done and they said my heart looked fine. The next day I had a lung CT scan and no blood clots showed up. On Wed. Jan 21. my gyno came into the hospital and did laproscopic surgery and found that my uterus is bound completely to my bladder and some to my bowels. She was going to do the recommended hyst. on the 23rd but the day before I got "hot" all over and jittery and scared about my heart. So I told her I wanted to put if off for a few weeks. The general doc. over my case sent me home with Lexapro 10 mg. ToporolXL 50 mg. (blood pressure) and clonazepam 0.5mg (anxiety) The cardiologist says my heart is okay that something else is stressing it/me. It's about time for my period again and I'm noticing the bloating and little cough again. I also feel full and like I need to have a bowel movement but when I do I'm almost a little lightheaded afterwards. I saw my gyno yesterday and I could tell she didn't understand that my bloating is more than normal period bloating. She also hinted at IBS. I feel that somehow all of this is "tied" together. I'm currently waiting on the office people to clear everything with the insurance people and set a date. Temp date if Feb. 17th. I've read alot of post regarding fibroids and intermittent bleeding, Is anyone else experiencing anything like me? My problems have escalated since Christmas and I'm truly depressed but praying everyday. I will pray for ya'll as well.
Sincerely,
cb37

severe adhesions reason for TAH

Hi SC!

I am scheduled for a TAH on 2/25 due endometriomas and adhesions. I will lose my ovaries but keep my cervix depending on the adhesions.

I went from thinking I had the stomach flu in November, to figuring out something was wrong in January, to major sugery!

I have a cyst on each ovary, which are believed to be endometriomas, and adhesions on my bowel and bladder. The bowel adhesions do not bother me, but the bladder adhesions give me severe pain 4-5 days out of my period. I have not had your exact symptoms, but when I am a day from starting my period my abdomen feels very bloated and if I tried to stand straight up I would vomit (my doctor says this is from the hormones). So, I spend 2-3 days bent over walking around like I have a back ache, but it is from my abdomen. The only comfortable position I have found is flat on my back with my legs bent. I also feel like a need to have a BM, but I believe it is just the bloating and pressure.

Endo is a disease that there isn't much known about, yet, but my doctor says they are learning more and more. It can attach itself to different organs and causes many different types of symptoms and pains.

I'm sorry about the panic attacks and heart problems that you are encountering. It is scary enough to deal with a TAH, but then put what else you are feeling and dealing with on top of it and I am sure you are feeling lots and lots of anxiety and stress.

My husband takes Lexapro for stess and it has done wonders, so hopefully that will help you out a bit.

I wish you much strength on your journey. Continue to ask questions and ask for support. I am on the boards 2-3 times a day, so private message me or send me an :email: if you would like to talk or need some support.

severe adhesions reason for TAH

I'm a beach lover, too, stuck here in the wintery midwest!

I had a TAH for my adhesions. Stuck right tight to my bowel. My pain was excruciating. I am so glad that I had my surgery.

This hysterectomy business--It is a tough decision all on its own. It sounds like you have some other areas that are of concern. Talk to your dr about having a cardiologist on call/present during your surgery. It is a precaution they should take and would certainly make you feel more relaxed. Perhaps they can give you something for your anxiety, too, before the surgery.

Be careful with the BM's too. You commented that you feel lightheaded afterwards; there is something called (spelling won't be right here) "vegel"ing yourself-where you can actually pass out while pushing a difficult BM. Look into that, too.

I offer you my support and hope you find the answers you are looking for.

severe adhesions reason for TAH

Hi,

I am 3 weeks post op today and had TAH for the same reasons. Adhesions stuck to bladder and bowel. It was a good decision. I was back at home 3 days later. Only problem was hematoma on the wound which has now dispersed. Started walking around the ward on day 2 (on physio's advice). Walked each day since, building up from 10mins a day and today I went for a 45min brisk walk. I am wearing jeans and heels again when I go out but still in stretchy ones in the evening.

I really didn't think it would go this well. All the pain, lethargy and....................... before the op I didn't think I had bowel problems but now I realise I did. Things in that department are sooooo much better.

I do get tired but in some ways it's a sort of nice tired.

Although I have done the walking I have not done any housework, shopping or cooking (DH is fantastic as he's not really the housework type) and I have rested alot in between.

Good luck
