TAH 9 days post hysterectomy: Staples out! Feel like a new woman :)

I am 9 days post op and had a vertical incision TAH. After surgery the pain from the incision and surgery was very tolerable with the meds that were sent home with me. The only unbearable pain I have had is the Foley catheter that I get to wear for 2 weeks.
Yesterday I went to have my staples removed and surprisingly feel SO much better! I did not realize how bad they were pulling until they were out. Last night was the first night I did not take pain meds thru the night and I was not hurting too terribly bad when I got up this morning. This new milestone has turned my mood around and am thinking I am truly turning the corner to get back to normal.

Omg your story sounds just like mine..its been one week since my vertical incision hysterectomy.. Took my Foley out the second after to find out I had a bladder infection.... Ouch...very painful... More painful than the surgery to me..anyway I go to the doctor Monday which will be 11 days post op..to get my staples removed....thank you for your story I was scared of the pain but now I'm looking forward to the removal..
