liquid diet before hysterectomy

Wow, I feel so lucky (or like my doctor doesn't care, lol) as I only have to have nothing after midnight, can eat normally the day before (I am taking it easy however, I don't want a harder poop situation than necessary!) and I can take all of my meds and vitamins. Just nothing herbal and no aspirin. I have fibro so I take lyrica and assorted pain meds and muscle relaxers daily, and I occasionally take ambien. I had my preop appt today and the nurse said I can take an ambien the night before if I want to. She told me don't be afraid to ask for more pain meds. I had all of my tests today, EKG, X-ray and blood work. Going to go see the office people at my obgyn tomorrow to give them my disability papers. I am nervous, but honestly I wish it was tomorrow (but only 3 more days)! I want to get it over with.

I'm nearing the end of my bowel prep today. drank magnesium citrate around 330 and have been pooping 5 hours now. it's not constant but my tush is starting to get a little sore. I bought non alcohol baby wipes and those seem to help. I ate my last bit of solid food yesterday at noon and have been on the clear liquid diet since then. I think that makes it a little better and easier. good luck!
